There are plenty of web-based email service providers that you can resort to, but having an email account with your own personal domain will give you more credibility if you have a company, for example, not to mention that with web-based services there are limitations on the size of the attachments that you can send or receive. If you use an email service that offers support for the IMAP and POP3 email protocols, you won’t encounter such problems and you will be able to use any software program on your computer to access your emails, including Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. You can even set up an email account on your phone. The difference between the two protocols is that with IMAP, an email message is displayed at your end, but remains on the server, while with POP3, the message is downloaded on your computer, unless you configure the program in such a way as to keep a copy on the server.

POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Shared Website Hosting

You will be able to use any email client software and any desktop or mobile device to check your email messages if you buy any of our shared website hosting. Our email servers offer support for both email protocols (IMAP and POP3), so you can choose the one that matches your requirements – you can download all emails onto your PC or you can leave the messages on the server if you’ve got a firm and a number of employees need to have access to them, for example. You can even download an auto-configuration file for a specific mailbox for any of the three most widely used desktop email clients – Apple Mail, Thunderbird and Outlook. You’ll just have to run the file on your computer and that email account will be set up automatically. In case you’d rather use your phone, we’ve added detailed tutorials on how to set up a mailbox on an iOS- or an Android-powered handheld device.

POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can pick between the IMAP and the POP3 email delivery protocols if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. We support both of them, so you can decide what to do with your emails – to download them to your PC or to keep them on the mail server and to check them from multiple devices. The latter option will also permit different people to check the exact same mailbox – in case you’re hosting a company site on our servers, for instance. You can find auto-configuration files in the Email Manager section of our Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which will allow you to automatically set up everything in a client of your preference – Thunderbird, Outlook or Apple Mail, so you will not have to modify anything manually. In case you’ve got a mobile phone, you can set up any email account just as easily – just read our exhaustive tutorials for Android and iPhone. To make things easier, the instructional articles come with step-by-step screenshots.
